Newest Ugg Boot Fashion for Woman

We’ve already looked at Ugg Flip-Flops and Sandals — now we’re going to look at the extraordinary popularity of Ugg Boots. You remember Pam Anderson wearing these everywhere, right? And then all the other celebs who quickly followed suit? I dunno how well-off the Ugg Co. was before Pammy came along, but they ought to have her on the board of executives by now.

If you’re wondering whether or not I dig the Ugg style — I don’t. Not really. At least, not the styles everyone else seems to love so much. There *are* are few styles I like well enough, but you’ll notice they fall into the category better known as “normal”. I am a big, big fan of boots, so it doesn’t really take too much to get me excited (not that kind of excited, you pervert!) over a nice pair, but I find myself really having to talk myself into the Ugg stuff. Take a look at these styles and let me know how you feel about them.

Ugg Caroline Boot

And you thought Ugg didn’t make ordinary boots. As you can see here, the Caroline boot is pretty hawt, and it comes in a fabulous color. It reminds me a lot of a pair of my mother’s boots that I used to play dress-up with back in the 80s (the boots were from the 70s) so I’m digging them. What do you think?

Price: $295

Ugg Classic Tall Boot

Here we have the Pam Anderson Ugg Boot. At least, that’s what I think it ought to be called, considering how often you can see the woman wearing them. Here you see the color I happen to like best, but celebs seem partial to that tan color, so if you want to be a truly “in” person, get the tan.

Price: $160

Ugg Sandra Boot

I dunno about the Sandra boot. Are you digging it? I’ve never been one for that kind of heel; they make me feel like I’m walking on stilts. I’m not really keen on the material the heel’s crafted from, either. I mean, I can’t play dominatrix in these, if you know what I’m saying. And have you seen the price tag on these??

Price: $395

Ugg Wilshire Boot

Do I really need to tell you what I think about this one? Are there people who really wear this thing? Would you? Would you be seen with someone sporting a pair? Sorry, I gotta say these boots don’t do a whole lot for me. I hate seeing this branding on handbags, and it’s even sillier on boots!

Removing Wax from Ugg and Emu Boots

May 1, 2009 by admin · 1 Comment

candle Removing Wax from Ugg and Emu BootsYou’re eating at your favorite restaurant and an accident at the table causes the candle to fall and melted wax spills on your UGG boots. Perhaps you dripped wax from a candle in your home or maybe you spilled wax while making your own candles. Regardless of how it happened, you now have a nasty wax stain on your favorite boots and have to find a way to remove it!

Wax stains are different than the ones caused by dirt, oil, and water. Because the wax hardens on the surface of the boot it will adhere in a way that makes cleaning much more difficult.

There are two main ways to approach removing a wax stain. One is to use cold and the other is to use heat.

Let’s look at cold first. If you apply ice to your boot, or even put it in the freezer, the cold will cause the wax to finish hardening and eventually constrict. This should make it easier to carefully and gently scrape the hardened wax off of your boot. Make sure you wrap your boot in a plastic bag before putting it in the freezer (to protect both your boot and your food) or, if it will not fit, use ice packs to freeze the area in question.

If the freezing does not work you could try applying heat to the wax. The heat will, of course, melt the wax and may cause it to spread, so you must use extreme caution when using this technique. Heat a small area of wax and try to absorb it before moving on to the next section. Using heat to remove the wax will likely still leave a stain on the suede – but the wax itself will be gone.

Use care in attempting to remove the wax stain from your UGGs and you’ll be able to save them from total ruin!

Looks like the fashionistas were right when they pronounced Uggs as “so over they are hot again.” Deckers Outdoor Corp. says its net sales jumped 37.6% in the first quarter to $134.2 million, fueled by a 66.9% increase in Ugg sales, exceeding the company’s expectations.

Sales of its Teva footwear, however, declined 5.7%. The Goleta, Calif.-based company says net income for the quarter gained to $12.4 million, from $11.3 million in the same period of last year. The company says it continues to anticipate strong demand for Uggs, and raised its sales projections for both second quarter and the year ahead.

Woman killed by train when her ugg boot becomes stuck

May 1, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

A woman in her late twenties was struck and killed by a train earlier today in the UK, after her Ugg boot became stuck in the railway crossing, and even after freeing it, she went the wrong way to cross the tracks.

A passer-by desperately tried to save the girl but watched in horror as the train hit her.

The victim, who was in her late 20s, became trapped as she tried to cross a railway line after the crossing gates had shut.

One of the trendy Ugg Boots she was wearing got caught between the slats of the wooden guard at the level crossing at Hythe station in Colchester, Essex.

She was unable to move until passer-by, Jonathan Smith, intervened.

The IT student managed to help the woman free her foot seconds before the impact.

But he said that instead of getting out of the way of the train she tried to follow her boyfriend to the other side of the tracks.

Mr Smith, 18, said he went through the barriers and when he saw the woman had her foot stuck he grabbed her hand and she managed to free her foot.

“I had her in my arms. She was safe. But her boyfriend screamed at her to get to the other side,” he said.

“I said ‘Stay on this side’ but he told her ‘This is my train, I’ve got to be on this side of the track’.

At this point, Mr Smith said the train was only about 25 feet away but the driver did not have a chance to stop.

“She just curled up in a ball and her boyfriend jumped out of the way,” he said.

“I tried to help her but I slipped because it was wet. It was just luck that I wasn’t hit.

“I was still holding her hand when the train came but my friend told me to let go, otherwise I would lose my arm. I just went into shock afterwards.”

Despite Mr Smith’s brave attempt to save the woman, identified locally as Kelly, she was killed instantly when a train travelling at between 40 and 50mph careered into her.

POPULAR Ugg-style boots could cripple women, experts have warned.

Problems linked to the trendy footwear have soared in recent years — as sales have gone through the roof.

The soft structure and heel-less sole is said to increase the risk of ankle sprains and bad posture.

And they create a breeding ground for fungi that cause foot infections. The boots, which cost from £50 to £100, are favoured by celebs such as Katie Price and Coleen Rooney who like their soft sheepskin interior.

And their woollen or sheepskin exteriors go with anything from skinny jeans to dresses.

But podiatrist Linda Hawkins, of Lee, South London, said: “Sheepskin boots, like other footwear without heel and sole support, are only suitable for short-term wear.

“Use all day leads to the boot structure breaking down, increasing the risk of a twisted ankle.”

Pharmacist Hasan Ukra, who works in the flagship Boots store in London’s Oxford Street, said: “Wearing these kind of boots could increase the risk of fungal infections due to the moist environment created.

“And I’ve seen a marked rise in ankle sprains due to the soft and comfortable nature of the boots.”
